Is Morrisons looking into fish plant?

The UK’s fourth largest retailer WM Morrison Supermarkets -- known commonly as Morrisons – is looking to set up a fish packing plant in the UK, sources told IntraFish.

Bradford-based Morrisons has several of its own processing and packing plants in the UK for meat and other produce, but the business formerly known as Cumbrian Seafoods – bought out of administration by Young’s Seafood and renamed Ocean Pure -- was its main fish supplier for many years.

This was, in part, due to a long standing relationship between Ken Morrison and Cumbrian founder Peter Vassallo.
