News that WM Morrison Supermarkets is setting up a plant to process as much as 10,000 metric tons of fish in Grimsby -- news broken by IntraFish -- has been latched onto by local media as a good news story.
On one level, you cannot scoff at a venture that will create jobs at a tough time for the United Kingdom, even if the figure of as many as 500 given in some local press reports does seem ludicrous.
However, Morrisons is obviously going to stop doing business with some suppliers, which will then impact these other companies and could result in job losses and add to the already tough times for the UK processing
