Chinese processor Ocean One will open its new processing factory in Hunchun after the Chinese New Year holiday in February, Frank Zhou, president at the company, told IntraFish -- its third plant.
The facility, located close to the North Korean and Russian borders, will add to the company's two existing processing plants in Qingdao, where it processes chum and pink salmon, and in Yantai, where it processes yellowfin sole, rock sole and flounder.
Overall, Ocean One invested $8 million (€7.4 million) into the new facility, where the company will mainly be processing salmon, scallops and crab, he said.
