“What we need is more strong, sizeable, well-managed companies to drive product development, new markets -- there are very few companies in the world that can do what Marine Harvest has done with salmon,” said Thor Talseth, portfolio manager at Amerra Capital Management, speaking as part of a panel of expert investors interviewed at IntraFish’s DNB-sponsored Seafood Investor Forum, held in London, Wednesday.
Other panelists agreed that consolidation was essential for future investment, with DNB Markets’ Per Even Hauge suggesting that Chile would take a key role.
