Quadriga Capital Russia, which bought into St. Petersburg-based seafood group Rok-1 in 1999, is currently working with the company’s executives on plans for a new processing plant.
This is likely to be based on the outskirts of St. Petersburg and could include land-based aquaculture production, said Olga Mescherina, of Quadriga.
“Rok has trout farming already and aquaculture is part of the future plans. We are thinking of trout or sturgeon,” she told IntraFish.
Quadriga’s holding of Rok for over a decade is certainly a lot longer than the traditional private equity approach of three to five years, she said.
