Our 2014 Person of the Year – Marine Harvest Chairman Ole-EirikLerøy – didn’t just get into seafood. He was born into it.
“I definitely had a choice, but having your father, twograndfathers and uncle heavily and enthusiastically involved in thesector was a great inspiration,” he said.
It didn’t start out romantically. He started at the age of eightbringing documents to customs, forwarding agents and other “juniorwork,” as he calls it, followed by hard labor in the company’sfactories at 11 loading and unloading trucks and vessels, andquality grading, hand filleting and helping deliver to the localmarket.
