BMR Seafood Group is applying its Nellore, India feed mill for Global Aquaculture Alliance (GAA) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification, GAA announced Tuesday.
If the plant attains the certification, it would be eligible for a 4-star BAP certification for its shrimp hatchery, farm, feed mill and processing plant.
"BMR Seafood has had one goal in mind from the day they introduced vannamei shrimp to the rest of the world in 2004 — 'quality first,'" said BMR Seafood USA Director of Shrimp Sales Algred Nasti.
