German frozen food producers Iglo and Frosta have been caught in the crossfire of fresh media scrutiny, after a national TV report has been trying to uncover the depths of their "obscure supply chains." 

Aired on Monday, Sept. 1, on national TV channel ARD, the documentary 'The Iglo/Frosta Check (Der Iglo/Frosta-Check)' is looking into the price consumers pay for their own convenience.

Criticism ranged from questionable business partners -- including China's Pacific Andes -- the use of double-frozen raw material, and allegations of chemical additives in fish.
