Icelandic Iberica expects 2016 sales to exceed €100 million

Icelandic Iberica will emerge as a stronger company after the acquisition by Solo Seafood, a company owned by established Icelandic seafood suppliers, Hjorleifur Asgeirsson, CEO at Icelandic Iberica, told IntraFish.

The deal means better access to raw material for Icelandic Iberica, and better access to markets for Solo Seafood, he said during the Groundfish Forum in Hamburg last week.

"It's a win-win," he said.

This year, the company expects to report a turnover of more than €100 million ($110.3 million), Asgeirsson said, on par with last year's sales.

"We're
