Icelandic whitefish giant Brim promoted its Director of Business Development, Inga Jona Frigeritsdottir, to CFO and added her to the company's board of directors.

Frigerisdottir has been with HB Grandi, Brim's former name, since 2013 in various top roles.

She will be tasked to manage the company's finance, accounting, IT and its offices.

The company announced its new name during a shareholders meeting on Aug.16 shortly after receiving the confirmation from its board to buy four seafood sales firms in Asia, with the majority.

As a result, publicly listed Icelandic pension fund Gildi sold its 8.5 percent stake in Brim to Fisk Seafood on Aug. 19.
