Iceland-based Arion Bank is selling Fram Foods, a processor with operations in Iceland, Norway and Finland.

Arion, which was known as Kaupthing before being nationalized in the Icelandic financial crisis of late 2008, has taken a first round of bids on the company and will do a second round after Easter, Thorbergur Gudjonsson of Arion told IntraFish.

There has been  interest from both trade and financial companies, he said.

“I think there has been strong interest among the Scandinavian seafood companies looking at diversification and integration,” a banker told IntraFish.
