On average, spot market traders expected prices to grow more than 10 percent, to NOK 31 (€3.87/$6.03), for middle-sized salmon during the week.
“There’s just not a lot of fish available,” said Per Vidar Ottesen of salmon exporter Norwell. “The producers are happy [with the higher prices], but the industry as a whole is not all that pleased. But we think these are the kinds of price levels buyers will need to get used to. At least in the near future, this will not be an abnormal price.”
