Heiploeg snaps up shrimp arm of Lenger Seafoods

Heiploeg International has signed an agreement to take over theshrimp arm of Dutch producer Lenger Seafoods, Dirk-Jan Parlevliet,managing director at Parlevliet & Van der Plas (P&P), andCEO at Heiploeg, confirmed to IntraFish.

The two companies had been cooperating in the past, he said,adding Lenger will stop producing shrimp at its own plant in theNetherlands "and we will take over part of the division and themarketing."

An executive with Lenger, who wanted to remain anonymous, alsoconfirmed the news to IntraFish.

According to a statement, sent to IntraFish, Lenger's shrimp processing arm willgradually be moved from Yerseke to Zoutkamp, where Heiploegprocesses its shrimp.
