Chilean finance newspaper Estrategia reports Salmar CEO Yngve Myhre and several of his directors were in Chile’s capital Santiago a few weeks ago, fueling speculation it could be interested in acquiring Invermar.

According to the newspaper article there is talk of mergers or acquisitions; the paper gave special mention to representatives from the Montanari family that control Invermar – which is listed on Santiago Stock Exchange.
