Haddock prices have been falling fast in recent months after an extended period of high prices, but have not reached rock bottom yet, according to industry members.
The haddock price has "fallen dramatically" for some time despite a healthy demand for the fish, Birgir Bjarnason, general manager of Icelandic trading firm Islenska told IntraFish, but some buyers have been on the sidelines observing the market trends.
“When the price on something is dropping so fast, no one wants to buy more than they need for the very short term,” he said.
