Grieg looks to technology for production boost

Grieg Seafood is taking a technology-centered approach to its growth plans for the coming years.

"Our main strategy is to focus on existing areas,” Grieg CFO Atle Sandtorv told IntraFish on Friday.

Although there are signs of acquisition opportunity in Chile, the Norwegian salmon farmer plans to keep its energies focused on the regions where it already has farms – Canada, Great Britain and Norway -- as it plans a 28 percent production increase, from 70,000 metric tons this year to 90,000 metric tons in three to four years.
