Greenland Seafood has acquired all of the shares in French processing operation Gelmer Group -- including Pickenpack Europe -- from Asarmona, saving the jobs of more than 200 people, Pacific Andes International Holdings (PAIH) announced Tuesday.
"In a move that maintains Gelmer as a going concern employing more than 200 people, and at the same time reduces its liability to its bankers and maintains its status as a valuable customer for the company, Gelmer has filed for and successfully concluded conciliation proceedings which have resulted in, among other things, Greenland Seafood agreeing to acquire all of the shares in the capital of Gelmer from Asarmona," PAIH said.
