German premium salmon smoker Gottfried Friedrichs this week acquired the rights to the Stührk brand from bankrupt German shrimp and seafood supplier Stührk Delicatessen, Kathrin Runge, marketing director at the company, told IntraFish.

Stührk Delicatessen entered voluntary bankruptcy proceedings in October last year and announced in early April it will shut its processing plant in Marne by the end of June.

The two companies reached a final agreement on Monday, Runge said, however, declining to share the value of the deal.

Gottfried Friedrichs will offer a range of products under the Stührk brand in the future, she said, including salmon and caviar products.
