It has previously been targeting the Asia Pacific region for market share, but Malaysian seafood processing group Golden Fresh is expanding its reach into the Europe.
The company, which specializes in value-added shrimp and whitefish products, took over a company called Aqua Blue Seafoods in the United Kingdom last year, merged and consolidated into Pacific West Foods. Golden Fresh has also set up a subsidiary in France.
Golden Fresh’s move to set up in the United Kingdom is “to get closer to our customers,” said Eric Rose, its managing director for the United Kingdom, told IntraFish.
