A Russianimporter says he will stop buying Norwegian salmon if prices hit $7 (€5.4).
"The priceis high now, around $6 (€4.6), but still within an acceptable level, Defa GroupChairman Denis Repinskij told IntraFish.
The company,which is Russia’s fourth largest salmon distributor with 13 percent of themarket for fresh salmon, has its head office in St. Petersburg. Sales volumelast year totaled 18,000 metric tons of salmon and trout -- but with a low percentageof trout. This year, trout will account for a larger proportion.
