While the report of an infectious salmon anemia (ISA) virus detection in British Columbia that hit newsstands in mid-October continues to reverberate around the globe, Pacific Aquaculture -- a division of U.S. seafood giant Pacific Seafoods -- proceeds unflinchingly in its plans for a steelhead farm in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, between Canada's Vancouver Island and northern Washington state.
However, the company has yet to complete its preliminary study, which will take several months, Pacific Seafoods Aquaculture Manager John Bielka told IntraFish on Wednesday.
