“On average fresh lies over frozen, but differences in prices vary,” said Egil Ove Sundheim, director for market information at the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).

On average frozen prices lay below fresh in the first half of 2013 at NOK 12.14 (€1.5/$2). The average is calculated per month and compared accordingly.

The average price for fresh salmon in the first six months of 2013 is NOK 39.04 (€5/$6.5) while frozen averaged at NOK 26.91 (€3.4/$4.5) according to NSC statistics.
