The 2012 Alaska halibut season that wrapped up Nov. 7 taught the industry what many already suspected -- buyers' interest in frozen Pacific halibut is waning.
"We're struggling with sales of this fish right now," Shu Suzuki, sales manager for Westward Seafoods, told IntraFish. The company, a Maruha Nichiro subsidiary, sells halibut in frozen form only."It is one of the most difficult fish."
