French seafood packing company Packopale is investing €700,000 ($795,887) in new packaging equipment to meet demand for new forms of consumer packaging.

The new line will be installed at the end of September, Packopale boss Gregory Condette told IntraFish.

Packopale, with annual revenue of €3 million ($3.4 million), is based in Capecure, the seafood processing hub of the northern French port city of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Europe’s largest processing center.

In 2018, the company’s workforce of 30 people packed 6,000 metric tons of seafood destined for large supermarket retailers, including Carrefour and Auchan, as well as French, British, Belgian and German importers.
