Merinvest, the parent company of French smoked salmon processor Meralliance, has acquired The Edinburgh Salmon Company (ESCo) from Alistair Erskine.
ESCo is the UK-based salmon supplier for Walmart-owned Asda and the deal is part of a strategy to become a leasing private label supplier across Europe, said the managing director of the French company.
The Dingwall, UK-based company is in the process of completing a new raw salmon and seafood processing facility, which is due for completion in June.
