Illinois-based seafood distributor Fortune Fish & Gourmet announced Thursday it acquired Coastal Seafoods, a Minnesota-based seafood purveyor and retailer.
The deal expands Fortune's reach into several states, including Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and areas of Northern Iowa and Northern Wisconsin.
Coastal Seafoods services over 300 restaurants and retail stores across the region.
Following the completion of the deal, the company will be rebranded under the Fortune Fish & Gourmet name.
Owner and founder Suzanne Weinstein will remain on as a consultant for the group.
