On Friday, parent company Cermaq presented its quarterly result, which showed Ewos improved second-quarter sales 17 percent, with higher volume of around 190,000 tons. The company’s operating profit was up almost 90 percent to NOK 78 million (€9.8 million/$13.4 million).
Ewos Group’s CEO Kjell Bjordal isn’t popping any champagne corks just yet.
“Obviously it’s very nice with such a good improvement in the result, but last year’s second quarter was relatively weak,” Bjordal told IntraFish. “This year’s result is no better than it has to be, especially bearing in mind how costly it is to build new production capacity.
