Focus on exports, US market, doubles Danish salmon smoker's profits

Danish smoked salmon producer Vega Salmon reported a strong financial year, with both profits and earnings showing a large hike year-on-year.

The company saw its net profit more than double from DKK 3 million (€402,123/$432,234) to DKK 6.3 million (€844,458/$907,691) in the year ended June 30, 2015.

Operating profit also shot up 91 percent year-on-year, increasing from DKK 4.6 million (€616,589/$662,759) to DKK 8.8 million (€1.2 million/$1.3 million).

Gross profit amounted to DKK 46.5 million (€6.2 million/$6.7 million), a 50.9 percent jump from the DKK 30.8
