Australian seafood equipment manufacturer FishPac is conducting live fish shipping trials in collaboration with the University of Miami’s Experimental Hatchery.

The trial involves simulated shipping of juvenile and adult marine fish such as cobia and Japanese flounder, to find how they could be transported using the FishPac system.

The Unversity of Miami (UM) Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) announced last week it was embarking on a flounder and tuna aquaculture project.

“This is a very exciting development for our business, and an important relationship,” said Gavin Hodgins, general manager of FishPac.
