Fishmeal, fish oil prices ease on higher supply

Peruvian and Chilean fishmeal and fish oil prices have hit their lowest levels this year, according to latest figures by the International Fishmeal & Fishoil Organization (IFFO).

Average contracted Chilean and Peruvian fishmeal prices, based on super prime quality FOB, dropped to $1,446.30 (€1,065) per metric ton in October this year, remaining relatively stable from $1,444 (€1,063) per metric ton in September, down from $1561.90 (€1,150) per metric ton in August this year.

This is a 13.3 percent decline from the October last year, when prices stood at $1,670 (€1,230) per metric ton.
