Danish processing group A. Espersen won a sustainability award from McDonald’s, partly for its work in the Baltic Sea cod Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) drive.
The European division of the fast food conglomerate, of which Bornholm-based Espersen is the fish supplier, was presented with the “The Sustainable Award Price” during a December meeting of all McDonald’s Europe’s suppliers, Espersen CEO Klaus Nielsen told IntraFish.
These awards are given every two years and it is the first time Espersen has won it, said Nielsen.
