Fidelity Management and Research and Fidelity International Limited, arms of Boston-based financial giant Fidelity Investments on Wednesday bought more than 5 percent in Leroy Seafood, according to an announcement on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The notification did not say how much was paid for the shares, only the date they were acquired – Oct. 14 -- which means the price was somewhere between NOK 57 ($8.67/€6.48) and NOK 62 ($9.43/€7.04) per share. Austevoll Seafood has offered 59 ($8.96/€6.70) per share. Some market-watchers doubt Austevoll’s ability to finance such a purchase.
