A tight salmon market, with a shortage of all sizes, are pushing average prices for Norwegian salmon up to NOK 46 (€5.80/$7.50) per kilogram next week, with larger sizes going even higher.
In Week 28 last year, according to the NOS Weekly Spot Price Index (Now the NASDAQ Salmon Index), prices this week last year were at NOK 25.24 (€3.20/$4.16) -- half what some salmon sellers are getting for larger fish.
Larger-sized fish (5+kg) is priced in the range of NOK 50 (€6.3/$8.1)
