As Global Trust and the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute argue with green groups over what makes an ecolabel credible, the world’s authority on fisheries management remains at odds over whether or not to make its eco-labeling benchmarking framework official.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)’s Committee On Fisheries decided not to adopt its ecolabel conformity assessment framework at its 30 session this month.
