Global fish production is projected to reach 194 million metric tons by 2026 -- an increase of 15 percent, or 26 million metric tons from current levels -- according the new OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2017-2024.

Most of the growth will be concentrated in "developing countries," particularly in Asia, the report stated.

Aquaculture will be the main driver of the growth, for which output is expected to be 34 percent higher in 2026 relative to the base period.
