"Don't give up on Russia," was the clear message given by Christen Mordal of Mordal Consulting during his presentation at the pelagic session at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) in Bergen, Norway, earlier this month.
Before the import ban came into force in August 2014, the nation was the single largest market for Norwegian pelagic products.
While the sanctions are not expected to be lifted in the "immediate" future, Mordal suggested to keep a close eye on developments to avoid any unpleasant "surprises when the market comes back."
