Though Pastoor declined specific comment on the ruling as he hadn't yet read the document, he said, "I hope the MIP regime will be done away with. Such a measure is perhaps defensible in a shorter period, but not for a time period of three to five years."
Pastoor said he didn’t know whether the European Commission would appeal the ruling, but had no qualms with neither Norway nor the EU.
"We are neither for nor against one or the other. We are in favor of free market mechanisms and accordingly for Norway’s demand that the MIPs are lifted."
