With salmon prices settling back to normal after summer and European smokers preparing for Christmas demand, the processing sector foresees a stable market through the end of the year.
“There was a temporary increase in July, when most of Norway closes down and goes on holiday, but prices have just returned to where they were beforehand,” Lance Forman, from Forman & Son, told IntraFish.
Smoked salmon producers are doing well this year, with no major global issues influencing the industry, and there is nothing to indicate things will change for the coming months, industry members said.
