Equity firm acquires controlling stake in Dutch shrimp giant Klaas Puul

Investment firm H2 Equity Partners has acquired a controlling stake in shrimp processor Klaas Puul, the companies announced.

Shares of Klaas Puul are being acquired by H2 Equity Partners, the founding family Mooijer and the management.

This is the first time the firm enters the seafood sector, Rutger Jan Vlek, investment director at H2 Equity Partners, told IntraFish.

However, the fund relevant experience in the food sector after acquiring a stake in frozen and fresh vegetables supplier Oerlemans Food.

“We consider the markets attractive and Klaas Puul a leading player with a lot of improvement and growth potential,” Jan Vlek said.
