Dong Won targets $90 million sales from lunchbox chain JV

The President and CEO of South Korean fishing company Dong Won Fisheries, Ki Choul Wang, signed the joint venture with the President of Plenus, a Japanese lunchbox chain with over 2,000 stores, Wednesday.

“President Tatsuo Shioi of Plenus and I officially signed an agreement to form a joint venture (JV) company named YK Food Service, to establish the Hotto Motto lunch box chain restaurant in Korea,” said Wang, in a statement emailed to IntraFish.

“We at Dong Won see this as the first step toward diversifying our business, where our main focus has been fishing.
