Smoked salmon and haddock sales saw a lift in the UK retail sector during 2015, according to the latest figures from market research company Nielsen.
In the 52 weeks up to Jan. 02, 2016, smoked salmon sales in the United Kingdom climbed 4.5 percent in terms of value to £264 million (€334.9 million/$366.2 million) and 12 percent in volume to 11,837 metric tons.
Over the period, the price per kilo for smoked salmon fell 6.7 percent year-on-year to £22.32 (€28.30/$31) per kilo, and the average price per unit fell 3.9
