The accounts show a deficit before tax of a whole NOK 53.5 million (€7 million/$9.1 million). Since its establishment in 1996 the company has only delivered a profit for two financial years. Before tax the company has so far lost almost NOK 175 million (€22.8 million/$29.8 million).

Genomar targeted the aquaculture species of tilapia, which is a fish with white flesh. It can be found grocery stores the world over, also in sparsely populated areas of Norway.

Genomar is controlled by the Norwegian cruise business magnate Fred Olsen, through companies Ganger Rolf and Bonheur.

The
