Though Cermaq encompasses both the salmon farming giant Mainstream and the feed behemoth Ewos, Ewos surprisingly only sells 16 percent of its total feed production to its sister company. As much as 84 percent goes to Mainstream’s competition, away from the Cermaq group, which owns them both.

“We must keep Mainstream and Ewos at arm’s length from each other,” Jon Hindar, CEO of Cermaq, said in his introduction at Cermaq’s capital market day held in Bodo, Norway last Wednesday.
