“Our reputation will worsen before it gets better,” according to Christian Chramer, information director for NSEC.
On Thursday, he held an address at the annual meeting for the North Norwegian marine farming association in Tromso. The theme was the marine farming industry’s international reputation and consumer opinion about Norwegian salmon.
He started off with a kind of good news. Due to the finance crisis other Norwegian export industries experienced a 15-percent downturn in sales last year. The salmon industry on the other hand, enjoyed a 15-percent upswing, for yet a new record.
