The Thailand-based global conglomerate, and parent of Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), will build a new shrimp farm in the Thua Thien-Hue province in Vietnam, using sand and greenhouse technology.

The shrimp will be reared on sand, using an enclosed system, which should result in safe and disease-free shrimp, wrote the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

The green house system is the newest technology used by CP Thailand and appears in a number of places over the world.

The ultimate objective is to provide high quality shrimp products to both domestic and foreign markets, as well as support shrimp producers to develop their brand name.
