US district court of Massachusetts granted an extension Monday in the sentencing of embattled New England fisheries executive Carlos Rafael.

Rafael filed a motion on Friday asking his sentencing be moved from June 27 to July 28 because "the financial records at issue in this case are voluminous and, despite diligent efforts, additional time is needed to gather and provide them to the probation officer," according to court documents

On March 30, he waived indictment and plead guilty for evading fishing quotas and smuggling profits to Portugal.
