Costly Alaska pollock alternatives squeeze surimi makers

Costs of high-grade surimi base alternatives are in some cases outstripping those of Alaska pollock as producers struggle to pass on raw material price increases to supermarket retailers, Lithuania-based producer Viciunai said Wednesday.
