Costco pulls all Foppen products

The Kirkland Signature smoked Norwegian salmon two-pack and the Foppen smoked Atlantic salmon pieces have both been pulled across both the United States and as many as five other countries after Foppen recalled 100,000 packages of smoked salmon products supplied to buyers in the Netherlands, a Costco spokeswoman told IntraFish.

The Dutch supplier learned of the potential contamination when hundreds fell ill with suspected salmonella across The Netherlands.

Costco carries two products produced by Foppen. The Foppen brand smoked salmon squares product is only sold in the United States, while Costco's Kirkland Signature private label product are carried in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Taiwan Costco locations.
