Securing raw materials has long been a topic of conversation within Cermaq's four walls, CEO Jon Hindar told IntraFish, so when the Copeinca board issued an open invitation to investors, entering the process was a no-brainer.
“Over time we have discussed at both management level and in the boardroom how to position ourselves for guaranteed constant access to raw materials, and how we can capitalize on the knowledge we have of fishmeal in particular. We realize these are values we have not managed to exploit in the past,” he said.
