The regional government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucia) authorized a Cooke Aquaculture-owned Culmarex seabass and seabream farm project in Almeria, reports Europa Press.

The 113-hectare seabream and seabass farm will be located 3.2 kilometers off the San Juan de los Terrenos’ coast, in southern Spain province of Almeria.

Culmarex expects to produce 3,000 metric tons of fish a year after the fourth operating year, according to the website.

The new farm will feature 24 production cages of 28.6 meters diameter and capacity for 11,000 cubic meters distributed in two different clusters.
